Electric and water-based floor heating systems – structure and function

Fußbodenheizungen geben Wärme großflächig ab - das spart Energie.

Water-based floor heating systems comprise heating pipes, which are installed in the screed below the floor covering. The heat dissipation in the room relies on a heating circuit distributor, which regulates the hot leg and return leg of the warm water circulating in the pipes. Room sensors and control modules are used for easy regulation of heating times and temperatures. Perfect as a stand-alone heating system in all interior spaces with suitable floor coverings.

Schlüter-BEKOTEC-THERM is a water-based heating assembly comprising the covering and a surface heating system. The studded screed panel Schlüter-BEKOTEC-EN is available in a number of variants to serve as a load distribution layer, sound insulation panel and custom-fitted underlayment for the heating pipes. Thanks to the heating circuit distributor Schlüter-BEKOTEC-THERM-HV/DE, the assembly can be connected to virtually any heating system.

Die elektrische Boden- und Wandheizung DITRA-HEAT-E sorgt für behagliche Wärme.

Electric floor heating systems comprise heating cables, which are installed in the area directly underneath the floor covering. A convenient thermostat regulates the temperature as well as on and off times. Electric heating systems are particularly well suited for quick and targeted warming of smaller areas, making them an ideal choice for barefoot zones in tiled bathrooms, for example in front of vanities, bathtubs and showers.

Schlüter-DITRA-HEAT-E is a thin-layer electric floor or wall heating system. The underlayment for the heating cables is the proven uncoupling mat Schlüter-DITRA-HEAT, which also serves as an uncoupling, waterproofing, sound insulation, load distribution and vapour pressure equalisation layer for natural stone and tile floor coverings. Thanks to its extremely low total assembly height of 5.5 mm, the system is particularly well-suited for upgrading older homes and is available as a complete set or in individual components. Perfect as a stand-alone heating system or as a supplementary heating system for scheduled warming of specific areas (e.g. during morning hours in front of the bathroom sink).
